Test Area
[ecs-list-events]
We know that your first time at a church, any church, brings up some questions. If it’s been a long time since you’ve been to church, Christ’s Place has you in mind. There’s already enough you have to think about when visiting a church for the first time. We hope that getting some of this stuff out of the way not only encourages you to join us for church, but also helps you to connect with the hope and encouragement God has for you.

Common Questions

What should I wear?
We’re more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear. So, dress comfortably and you’ll fit right in.
Where is the church located?
We are one church in two locations at 11th & Old Cheney and 56th & Van Dorn. Click here for more location details and service times.
Are the services different at each location?
The services at both campuses are very similar. At both locations you will experience great worship with a live band and the same message that is delivered at the Old Cheney Campus will be heard at the Van Dorn Campus (via video and/or live). The church locations have different seating capacities for services. The Old Cheney Campus seats 750 and the Van Dorn Campus seats 200 in each service.
What do you have for my kids?
Nursery (Birth – 2 years) & Preschool (3-5 Years)
The Clubhouse provides children, ages birth-5, with an exciting environment to grow in their relationship with God through creative Bible lessons, memorable scripture verses, stories, video, music, as well as arts and crafts.

Elementary (K-5th Grade)
In The Studio elementary students learn lessons God through fun skits, crazy videos, music, games, creative teaching, and group discussion. God is creative, so we believe that church should be a creative place too.

Do you offer something for my teenager?
The Edge is a ministry for 6-8 grade students and Rock Solid is for 9-12 grade students. They both meet on Wednesday nights at 7:05 pm at the Old Cheney campus. Click here for more information about our student ministries.
Do you offer small groups?
Yes. We call them Connect Groups which offer the opportunity to connect with God and one another. These groups of 12-16 people meet every week in someone’s home. Connect Groups are semester based with groups lasting 10-12 weeks beginning in September, January and April each year.
Are you affiliated with a denomination?
Christ’s Place is affiliated with the Assemblies of God, a pentecostal fellowship, headquartered in Springfield, Missouri. We are part of the Nebraska District Council of Assemblies of God Churches.
Can I receive prayer?
Yes, we often provide an opportunity to receive individual prayer during a service. If you need special prayer, please let one of our pastors or altar workers know following a service. You may also submit a prayer request online by clicking here and it will be sent directly to a pastor or you can submit a prayer request to our online prayer wall for others at CP to pray for.

Connect Groups

What are Connect Groups?

Connect Groups are the small group ministry at Christ’s Place. Groups of 15 or so people meet each week with a trained leader and host. Connect Groups will increase your friendship base in a non-threatening environment and you will grow in your understanding of God’s Word.

When are Connect Groups?

Semesters of Connect Groups begin in September and January. Groups take one month off during sign up for the next semester of groups. At that point, you can sign up for the same group or try a new group!

Where do they meet?

Connect Groups meet on various days and nights each week throughout Lincoln and surrounding communities. Most groups meet in homes, though some groups meet in coffee shops and other locations.

How do I sign up?

Connect Groups are easy to join. Connect Group registration is promoted in August and December, but you can register for a group at any time! Fill out this form and tell us a little bit about you, the type of people you want to connect with, and the day and time you prefer to meet with your group. Our Connect Group staff will help put you together with people in a group you can connect with. Before the launch of Connect Groups, attend our Connect Group Launch Party to meet your group host and group members. If, at that time, the group doesn’t fit, we can get you into another one. Our Connect Group staff will help guide you along the one into a group where you can find meaningful connection with others.
